Next Steps of James Island and Folly Beach (NSJF) Training Fact Sheet

You are invited to learn more about a new free, ecumenical, Christian mentoring ministry called Next Steps of James Island and Folly Beach (NSJF). NSJF will empower our neighbors in need to take steps that can improve their lives emotionally, physically, and spiritually. These includes meeting basic needs, learning new job skills, increasing income, improving housing, improving health, and more. God-willing, in 2018 NSJF will start operating at Saint James Church—which is also the future home of James Island Outreach (JIO). Please contact Deacon Ed Dyckman at 843-367-5647 or if you have any questions.

You are welcome to join us and learn more about NSJF during one of our introductory sessions held in the parlor of Saint James Church, 1872 Camp Road, James Island, SC 29412 on either:

  • Monday, June 18th from 9:30 AM to Noon,
  • Monday, July 23rd from 9:30 AM to Noon, or
  • Monday, August 20th from 9:30 AM to Noon

Below we list the NSJF volunteer positions available. During each of the introductory sessions we will explore how NSJF operates and, if you are interested in serving in this ministry, you may select the position best suited for you. You need only attend one of these sessions. Subsequently, we will schedule a 3-hour, one-on-one role-playing training to prepare you to serve in your new NSJF volunteer position. Please join us!
